The Last Sovereign Nation.
When the old powers could not compete with what Arisara had built, they tried to burn it down. They burned most of the world with it.
Cambodia survived because Arisara raised the Apsara Veil in the same hour the first warheads fell. Silent maglev sky-trains glide between gleaming towers. The streets are cool and clean. The Kingdom endures — the last hope for humanity's survival.
The Apsara Veil
High above the city, the Veil filters the moon through its artificial dome. It is the single greatest engineering achievement in human history — an unbroken canopy that turned nuclear fire aside and left the Kingdom untouched while the world outside fell desolate.
Beneath it, life did not merely continue. It ascended. Heritage-styled lampposts line the grand concourse of Preah Monivong Street. The air is clean. The night is quiet. Surveillance drones move through the canopy in geometric patrol patterns — a thousand gentle lenses, watching over every citizen.
Thirteen years later, no warhead, no famine, and no disorder has ever crossed the Veil. None ever will.
